From Camden Lock Books' website: Camden Lock Books, located in Old Street Station in London, is one of the capital’s more established independent bookshops. They are a general independent bookshop and also specialize in great photographic, art, and local history books (& ECM label Jazz CDs).
Established in 1984 as a second-hand bookshop in Camden Lock Market by Jason Burley, it was then called Lot 49 Books (in homage to Thomas Pynchon). At its zenith, Camden Lock Books had expanded into three shops, one on the South Bank and two in Camden Lock Market. Since 2002, when they moved to Old Street Station, they have stocked new books and collectable books and their name reflects their place of inception.
No station bookshop in London has a wider general stock.
They also buy and sell Out of Print books using Marketplace and AbeBooks. These are no longer being published, are often rare and may be otherwise hard to acquire. Jason’s expertise came from 4 years as London Chairman of the largest group of Out of Print booksellers in the UK [Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association].
