About the booklet: The Society of Saint Pius X published the following “Profession of Catholic Faith: To Enlighten Souls in the Face of Modern Errors” on 24 June 2026, the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist.
Addressed amid renewed tensions between the SSPX and the Holy See, the statement sets out the Society’s doctrinal position on divine revelation, the Church, the papacy, the liturgy, the sacraments, ecumenism, religious liberty and what it describes as modern errors affecting Catholic life.
The original statement can be read on the SSPX website (Source: The Catholic Herald, 25 June 2026).
About the author: The Society of Saint Pius X is an international priestly society of common life without vows, whose purpose is the priesthood and all that pertains to it. Since its foundation by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in 1970, the Society has formed priests according to the immemorial teachings of the Catholic Church.
By teaching the traditional doctrine of the Church, by organising apostolates throughout the world, and by sanctifying souls with the traditional Latin rite of mass and the traditional Sacraments, the Society's priests continue the apostolic work of two millennia for the glory of God and for the salvation of souls. Deo gratias.
