About the author: Tilar J Mazzeo is an American-Canadian cultural historian, biographer, and author of the author of more than a half-dozen award-winning biographies and works of cultural history including the New York Times bestseller The Widow Clicquot . She is also an internationally recognized wine writer and a wine maker and a member of the International Food, Wine, and Travel Writers Association. The Widow Cliquot won the Gourmand Award for the Best Work of Wine Writing in the United States in 2009 and the basis for the 2023 major motion picture of the same name, directed by Thomas Napper. 

She began her career as a tenured professor, holding positions at universities in the United States and Canada for more than twenty years. Dr Mazzeo left the academy in 2021 to pursue full-time writing. She lives on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.
